Folks, some damn virus is kicking my ass. Again with the sore throat, and now here comes the congestion. I got two discontinuous hours of sleep Saturday night. Last night, four in a row. Progress, I suppose.
I haven't spoken a word aloud since Saturday morning. Throat hurts so much I cringe to think about using it to talk. I'd almost rather drool than swallow, even.
I've been subsisting on apple sauce, chicken soup, and tea. After this is over I will not be drinking green tea for a while. Antioxidants or no, it just doesn't taste that good.
Here's hoping the girls miss out on this one.
I am teling you for the last time, ZINC,ZINC,ZINC. The last time , when my sinuses hurt so much I thought I was going explode--I listened to the other whack jobs who screamed ZINC at me and went for it. I hate to say but it worked, so now I am officially beholded to the witchdoctors out there with their potions and elixers. Be Well.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention that Zn has been added to the arsenal. Hard to know if it's helping, but it can't hurt!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that ever works for me is Mucinex and I hate even thinking that word. It just sounds so...mucousy.
ReplyDeleteAnd this sounds gross too, but it works: gargle with salt water. The salt cleans off all the um...gunk in your throat so it doesn't just sit there getting infected...
And now I am making myself sick just thinking about it so I will say get well soon and be gone.
Sounds like you have what I have. Sore throat, coughing, painful sinuses, no sleep. I'm on day four of this stupid cold and can't WAIT for it to be over.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I think jasmine flavored green tea tastes significantly better than plain green tea if someone can get you some jasmine flavored. Also, I think I could eat my weight in kale soup.
did you come back into the realm of the living ?
ReplyDeleteIts been some time. My bad. Now stick with that chicken soup my moms all time remedy. And Vicks Vapo Rub (forget that... yuk) I enjoyed your book reports. What a bummer on George Washington. Never should have been boring. Never. A better choice, oldie but goodie, is Washington The Indispensable Man by James Thomas Flexner or maybe we can persuade McCullouch to do Washington next. :)
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thanks y'all -- and welcome, Janna! Troutbirder I will try to get some book reports up soon :-).
