Super Tuesday states, there's still time.
Remember the bumper sticker of a few years back: Regime change begins at home :).
Me, I'm sailin' on the good ship Obama. Do I wonder where he'll get the money for all the stuff he wants to do? Oh yes. But we won't be spending $275 million a day in Iraq anymore, and that's a damn good start.
Not so fast, sweetheart. It's not going to be easy to leave Iraq, no matter who is in charge. I'm betting we'll be there just as long with Obama or Hillary or any Republican contender. That money is going to be wasted there for a long time to come, thanks to our present Commander-in-Chief and his advisors.
ReplyDeleteNaturally nobody expects this to happen overnight. But it will be a blessed relief to have a President who recognizes it ought to happen sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteSweetheart. :)
I'm still bouncing between Obama and Clinton. I'm really on the fence there. But I won't be voting Republican, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteBut I have to agree with suburbancorrespondent, I don't think we'll be out of Iraq any time soon. But you are also right, Sandy, that it will be good to have someone in office who will move toward an end! And not try to convince us to go after anybody else (Iran, anyone?).
In my heart of hearts, I want it to be Hillary this time.
ReplyDeleteI feel like she has huge, detailed playbooks full of meticulous contingency plans for getting certain things done, and I think that if she gets a chance, all that strategy will pay off, and at the end of the day we will have universal health care. For one thing.
I think Barack Obama has a long bright future ahead, and I bet he'll be president at some point, maybe even this time.
But I think if Hillary doesn't win now, she's not going to try again.
